Kenneth Copeland — Freedom From Fear

30 Dec

Kenneth And Gloria Copeland

2 Timothy 1:7
God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but
of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

If people knew how death operates, they
wouldn’t be so afraid to live. Jesus said that
the one who believes on Him will never see
death. We’ve passed from that place where
we will know any death.

Fear of death is an enemy to you. Fear
of any kind is an enemy. Fear will keep you
from walking in God’s delivering power. That’s
because God responds to faith. He does what
we believe for Him to do.

If we have fear of death, we’re living in fear.
As a result, we give God no faith to work with.
He intervenes in this earth through faith. Faith
is what causes the power of God to come upon
our bodies and heal us of sickness and disease.
If we believe His promises to secure our lives,
He secures our lives. Faith in God is what causes
His angels to go forth and to protect us in times
of trouble or times of danger.

The thing God says repeatedly in His Word
is, “Fear not.” Your deliverance is in fearing not
and believing God. Fear not. But have faith
in God.

People ruin their lives over the fear of
danger, when there is no danger for the
person who is inside God’s covenant of
salvation. The definition of the word salvation
includes “deliverance, preservation, material
and temporal deliverance from danger and
apprehension, or the fear of danger.”

Take on the attitude of the three young
Israelite men who were told to bow to a
foreign god or face a fiery furnace. They
replied, “We serve God and we believe that
He is able to deliver us out of your hand. Get
this straight, King, we’re not going to bow to
other gods.” Notice that attitude. They had
more fear of the Lord than they had fear
of death.

Why fear when you know angels have been
assigned to be ministers of God’s covenant
promises—including promises of protection?
You can hire bodyguards, but they’re not as
good as the angels. When you go to bed at
night, you ought to thank God for the angels
that encamp around about you to deliver you.
When you put your head down on the pillow at
night, you don’t have to be afraid somebody’s
going to break into your house. Use your faith
and believe God, thanking Him for the ministry
of angels on your behalf and that you have
protection. That’s part of your salvation. Enjoy
the rest of being free from fear as a covenant
child of God. It belongs to you.

Gloria Copeland — Psalm 91

16 Dec

Kenneth And Gloria Copeland

Psalm 91
KJV—He that dwelleth in the secret place of
the most High shall abide under the shadow
of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my
refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I
trust. Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare
of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.
He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under
his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy
shield and buckler. Thou shalt not be afraid for
the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth
by day; nor for the pestilence that walketh in
darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth
at noonday. A thousand shall fall at thy side,
and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall
not come nigh thee. Only with thine eyes shalt
thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.
Because thou hast made the Lord, which is
my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;
there shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any
plague come nigh thy dwelling. For he shall
give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee
in all thy ways. They shall bear thee up in their
hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.
Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the
young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample
under feet. Because he hath set his love upon
me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him
on high, because he hath known my name. He
shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will
be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and
honour him. With long life will I satisfy him,
and show him my salvation.

AMP—He who dwells in the secret place of the
Most High shall remain stable and fixed under
the shadow of the Almighty [Whose power no
foe can withstand]. I will say of the Lord, He is
my Refuge and my Fortress, my God; on Him
I lean and rely, and in Him I [confidently] trust!
For [then] He will deliver you from the snare
of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence.
[Then] He will cover you with His pinions,
and under His wings shall you trust and find
refuge; His truth and His faithfulness are a
shield and a buckler. You shall not be afraid
of the terror of the night, nor of the arrow
(the evil plots and slanders of the wicked) that
flies by day, nor of the pestilence that stalks in
darkness, nor of the destruction and sudden
death that surprise and lay waste at noonday.
A thousand may fall at your side, and ten
thousand at your right hand, but it shall not
come near you. Only a spectator shall you be
[yourself inaccessible in the secret place of
the Most High] as you witness the reward of
the wicked. Because you have made the Lord
your refuge, and the Most High your dwelling
place, there shall no evil befall you, nor any
plague or calamity come near your tent.
For He will give His angels [especial] charge
over you to accompany and defend and
preserve you in all your ways [of obedience
and service]. They shall bear you up on their
hands, lest you dash your foot against a stone.
You shall tread upon the lion and adder; the
young lion and the serpent shall you trample
underfoot. Because he has set his love upon
Me, therefore will I deliver him; I will set him
on high, because he knows and understands
My name [has a personal knowledge of My
mercy, love, and kindness—trusts and relies
on Me, knowing I will never forsake him, no,
never]. He shall call upon Me, and I will answer
him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver
him and honor him. With long life will I satisfy
him, and show him My salvation.

TLB—We live within the shadow of the
Almighty, sheltered by the God who is above
all gods. This I declare, that he alone is my
refuge, my place of safety; he is my God, and
I am trusting him. For he rescues you from
every trap, and protects you from the fatal
plague. He will shield you with his wings! They
will shelter you. His faithful promises are your
armor. Now you don’t need to be afraid of the
dark any more, nor fear the dangers of the
day; nor dread the plagues of darkness, nor
disasters in the morning. Though a thousand
fall at my side, though ten thousand are dying
around me, the evil will not touch me. I will
see how the wicked are punished but I will
not share it. For Jehovah is my refuge! I choose
the God above all gods to shelter me. How
then can evil overtake me or any plague come
near? For he orders his angels to protect you
wherever you go. They will steady you with
their hands to keep you from stumbling
against the rocks on the trail. You can safely
meet a lion or step on poisonous snakes, yes,
even trample them beneath your feet! For the
Lord says, “Because he loves me, I will rescue
him; I will make him great because he trusts in
my name. When he calls on me I will answer; I
will be with him in trouble, and rescue him and
honor him. I will satisfy him with a full life and
give him my salvation.”
