Kenneth Copeland — Strength Against Fear

27 Jan

Kenneth And Gloria Copeland

Isaiah 35:3-4
KJV—Strengthen ye the weak hands, and
confirm the feeble knees. Say to them that
are of a fearful heart, Be strong, fear not:
behold, your God will come with vengeance,
even God with a recompence; he will come
and save you.

AMP—Strengthen the weak hands and make
firm the feeble and tottering knees. Say to
those who are of a fearful and hasty heart, Be
strong, fear not! Behold, your God will come
with vengeance, with the recompense of God
He will come and save you.

Moffatt—Put heart into the listless, and brace
all weak-kneed souls, tell men with fluttering
hearts, “Have courage, never fear; here comes
your God, he will avenge his folk, here comes
God’s retribution, he comes himself to save
you!”

NIV—Strengthen the feeble hands, steady the
knees that give way; say to those with fearful
hearts, “Be strong, do not fear; your God will
come, he will come with vengeance; with
divine retribution he will come to save you.”

2 Timothy 1:7
KJV—God hath not given us the spirit of fear;
but of power, and of love, and of a sound
mind.

AMP—God did not give us a spirit of timidity (of
cowardice, of craven and cringing and fawning
fear), but [He has given us a spirit] of power
and of love and of calm and well-balanced
mind and discipline and self-control.

Weymouth—The spirit which God has given
us is not a spirit of cowardice, but one of
power and of love and of self-discipline.

NIV—God did not give us a spirit of timidity,
but a spirit of power, of love and of selfdiscipline.

Kenneth Copeland — Overcoming The Spirit Of Fear

Deuteronomy 20:1, 3-4
KJV—When thou goest out to battle against
thine enemies, and seest horses, and chariots,
and a people more than thou, be not afraid of
them: for the Lord thy God is with thee, which
brought thee up out of the land of Egypt….
Let not your hearts faint, fear not, and do not
tremble, neither be ye terrified because of
them; for the Lord your God is he that goeth
with you, to fight for you against your enemies,
to save you.

AMP—When you go forth to battle against
your enemies and see horses and chariots
and an army greater than your own, do not
be afraid of them, for the Lord your God, Who
brought you out of the land of Egypt, is with
you…. Let not your [minds and] hearts faint;
fear not, and do not tremble or be terrified
[and in dread] because of them. For the Lord
your God is He Who goes with you to fight for
you against your enemies to save you.

Moffatt—When you set out to make war upon
your enemies, and see war-horses and chariots
and an army larger than yourselves, you must
not be afraid of them, for the Eternal your God
who brought you out of the land of Egypt is on
your side…. Never lose heart, fear not, tremble
not, be not afraid of them, for the Eternal your
God goes with you, to fight for you against your
enemies and to give you the victory.

NIV—When you go to war against your enemies
and see horses and chariots and an army
greater than yours, do not be afraid of them,
because the Lord your God, who brought you
up out of Egypt, will be with you…. Do not be
fainthearted or afraid; do not be terrified or give
way to panic before them. For the Lord your
God is the one who goes with you to fight for
you against your enemies to give you victory.

Psalm 91:5-6
KJV—Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by
night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day; nor
for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor
for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.

AMP—You shall not be afraid of the terror
of the night, nor of the arrow (the evil plots
and slanders of the wicked) that flies by day,
nor of the pestilence that stalks in darkness,
nor of the destruction and sudden death that
surprise and lay waste at noonday.

Moffatt—You need not fear the terrors of
the night, nor arrows flying in the day; you
need not fear plague stalking in the dark, nor
sudden death at noon.

NIV—You will not fear the terror of night, nor
the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence
that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that
destroys at midday.

Gloria Copeland — Freedom From Fear And Death

13 Jan

Kenneth And Gloria Copeland

Mark 5:36
KJV—Be not afraid, only believe.

AMP—Do not be seized with alarm and struck
with fear; only keep on believing.

Weymouth—Do not be afraid: only have faith.

NIV—Don’t be afraid; just believe.

John 14:23, 27
KJV—Jesus answered.… Peace I leave with you,
my peace I give unto you: not as the world
giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be
troubled, neither let it be afraid.

AMP—Jesus answered.… Peace I leave with
you; My [own] peace I now give and bequeath
to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you.
Do not let your hearts be troubled, neither let
them be afraid [Stop allowing yourselves to
be agitated and disturbed; and do not permit
yourselves to be fearful and intimidated and
cowardly and unsettled.]

Weymouth—Jesus [replied]…. Peace I leave
with you: my own peace I give to you. Not as
the world gives do I give to you. Let not your
hearts be troubled or dismayed.

NIV—Jesus replied…Peace I leave with you; my
peace I give you. I do not give to you as the
world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled
and do not be afraid.

Hebrews 2:14-15
KJV—Forasmuch then as the children are
partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself
likewise took part of the same; that through
death he might destroy him that had the
power of death, that is, the devil; and deliver
them who through fear of death were all their
lifetime subject to bondage.

AMP—Since, therefore, [these His] children
share in flesh and blood [in the physical nature
of human beings], He [Himself] in a similar
manner partook of the same [nature], that by
[going through] death He might bring to nought
and make of no effect him who had the power
of death—that is, the devil—and also that He
might deliver and completely set free all those
who through the [haunting] fear of death were
held in bondage throughout the whole course
of their lives.

Weymouth—Since, then, the children referred
to are all alike sharers in perishable human
nature, He Himself also, in the same way, took
on Him a share of it, in order that through
death He might render powerless him who
had authority over death, that is, the devil,
and might set at liberty all those who through
fear of death had been subject to lifelong
slavery.

NIV—Since the children have flesh and blood,
he too shared in their humanity so that by his
death he might destroy him who holds the
power of death—that is, the devil—and free
those who all their lives were held in slavery
by their fear of death.

Gloria Copeland — Overcoming Terror

06 Jan

Kenneth And Gloria Copeland

Matthew 10 :28-31
KJV—Fear not them which kill the body, but
are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him
which is able to destroy both soul and body in
hell. Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing?
and one of them shall not fall on the ground
without your Father. But the very hairs of your
head are all numbered. Fear ye not therefore,
ye are of more value than many sparrows.

AMP—Do not be afraid of those who kill
the body but cannot kill the soul; but rather
be afraid of Him who can destroy both soul
and body in hell (Gehenna). Are not two little
sparrows sold for a penny? And yet not one
of them will fall to the ground without your
Father’s leave (consent) and notice. But even
the very hairs of your head are all numbered.
Fear not, then; you are of more value than
many sparrows.

Weymouth—Do not fear those who kill the
body, but cannot kill the soul; rather fear Him
who is able to destroy both soul and body in
Gehenna. Do not two sparrows sell for a half
penny? Yet not one of them falls to the ground
without your Father’s leave. But as for you, the
very hairs on your heads are all numbered.
Away then with fear; you are more precious
than a multitude of sparrows.

NIV—Do not be afraid of those who kill the
body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid
of the One who can destroy both soul and
body in hell. Are not two sparrows sold for
a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the
ground apart from the will of your Father.
And even the very hairs of your head are all
numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are worth
more than many sparrows.

Matthew 24:4-6
KJV—Jesus answered and said unto them, Take
heed that no man deceive you. For many shall
come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall
deceive many. And ye shall hear of wars and
rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled:
for all these things must come to pass, but the
end is not yet.

AMP—Jesus answered them, Be careful that
no one misleads you [deceiving you and
leading you into error]. For many will come in
(on the strength of) My name [appropriating
the name which belongs to Me], saying, I am the
Christ (the Messiah), and they will lead many
astray. And you will hear of wars and rumors
of wars; see that you are not frightened or
troubled, for this must take place, but the end
is not yet.

Weymouth—“Take care that no one misleads
you,” answered Jesus; “for many will come
assuming my name and saying, ‘I am the
Christ’; and they will mislead many. And you
are to hear of wars and rumors of wars. See
that you be not alarmed, for such things must
be; but the end is not yet.”

NIV—Jesus answered: “Watch out that no one
deceives you. For many will come in my name,
claiming, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive
many. You will hear of wars and rumors of
wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed.
Such things must happen, but the end is still
to come.”
